It's Beginning to look like Christmas...

I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this time of year and wonder why can't I find this much joy and excitement more often than just the last month of a whole year. It has been so much fun sharing this happiness with my little girls!! Oh the smiles and laughter and such giddiness is so awesome to shine on their faces whenever we talk about Christmas and its festivities. One thing I have found so exciting this year is finally being able to place a tree in our window. I know right? It sounds chinsty, but I just love to drive by houses and admire a beautifully lit Christmas tree in its window. I finally rearranged some things in the house to make it happen and now smile everytime I pull in.
We've also decided to stay home for the first time this Christmas. We are normally on the road to Arizona or up north visiting family, but have found it just to difficult. So we are so excited to stay put and start our own traditions that we haven't really been able to enjoy as I would have in the past. Aahh...the music, cookies, lights, stockings, decorations....EVERYTHING is so magical and the Spirit of this holiday season will NEVER lose its trend!!
Yaaayyy...I have a tree in our window!!!

Leah had fun making her own Christmas Decorations

Our little snow village with countdown....I am such a sucker for snowman!!!

This is one of the traditions I am very excited about doing with our girls!!!

How Grateful I am.....

I am not the best at jumping on the bandwagon of posting daily thanks for the month of November up till Thanksgiving, though I do enjoy reading others and helping me reflect upon my own thankfulness. So, I want to take a small moment and express my gratitude for what I have in my life. I am grateful for my beautiful and eternal family. Sometimes I wonder why Heavenly Father put His trust in me to raise our two beautiful and oh so full of life girls! I am so grateful for my wonderful husband and ALL he does for me and our family. He is so dedicated and loving. His example of selflessness and service keeps me always wanting to be a better wife and mother.I am thankful for my mom and dad who have shown me how to always put others first and to work hard for what you want in life, I love them dearly. I am thankful to have my family in various parts of the country. I love them so much and want nothing but the best for them. I value their talents and compassion. I am thankful for having all of our needs met knowing there are others who have nothing. And I am thankful for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father who without them I would have none of what I have written and much much more. I also know that I wouldn't be who I have become and who I strive to be each and everyday. I am thankful for life and love you all!!!

Life's "little" Reminders.....

While snuggling in bed with Leah the other morning I was in the midst of making my mental "to do list" for the day and allowing my mind to get lost in the many details I needed to remember and quit pushing to the side. After a few moments of self indulgence I brought my attention back to my daughter laying besides me and asked what she was thinking about. " Listen mom, the birds outside are singing a song for the morning," she replied.
I paused...and just listed. Yes they were singing and adding to the beauty of natures gift. Wow...I thought to myself, it is so easy to get caught up in the mundane schedules of life and forget the little precious moments. While I was already scheduling myself for the day, I wasn't allowing myself to enjoy the simple pleasure of being with my Leah and listening to the melody of birds just outside our window. It was a special moment, a moment I need to have more often I thought to myself.I needed this reminder and I am so grateful for my beautiful children to help me remember the little things in life. Let's never forget life's little moments.
